Welcome aboard
…but his journeys live here.
For decades, Captain Flip Gallion guided guests through the waters around Amelia Island, Florida, with more than 1,200 professional charters, countless dolphins, pelicans and sunsets, and a lot of happy passengers. His charter days are over, but the memories of those trips are kept here.
Thank you to everyone who came along for the ride.
The captain
United States Coast Guard 100-Ton Master, experienced local tour guide, and Northeast Florida’s premier boating instructor.
Captain Flip Gallion’s boating experience began at an early age on Lake Lanier, near Atlanta, Georgia, where he honed his skills on small sailboats and motorboats. As a resident of Fernandina Beach, he sailed the waters surrounding Amelia Island, Florida, from the mid-’90s on, logging more than 1,200 professional charters, plus countless hours of personal boating!
Flip sailed the Intracoastal Waterway, St. Johns River, the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico aboard a variety of vessels. He served as captain and/or mate on tour boats, tugboats, a casino boat and several yachts. He taught hands-on power boating and sailing to students of all ages and skill levels, and was affiliated with Windward Sailing & Amelia Island Boat Club.
His private eco-tours and local history excursions sailed aboard a classic Grady-White powerboat, with a shade canopy, weather enclosures and comfortable seating.
